Position Overview:

As a Software Engineer at Chimera Rocket Labs, you will design, develop, and maintain software systems that support our aerospace technologies. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists, tackling complex technical challenges and delivering innovative solutions. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of software and aerospace integration, all from the flexibility of a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain software for mission-critical aerospace applications, including simulation, telemetry, and control systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, aerospace specialists, and project managers to integrate software with physical systems.
  • Design and implement scalable, efficient, and secure software architectures.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
  • Debug and resolve issues across the software stack, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Conduct testing, verification, and validation of software systems to meet industry standards and project requirements.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and methodologies to ensure our software remains cutting-edge.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Assist in the development of user interfaces and tools for data analysis and mission monitoring.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, preferably in the aerospace, robotics, or high-tech industry.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, or similar.
  • Experience with software development tools and platforms, including Git, Jenkins, or Docker.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with real-time systems, embedded software, or high-performance computing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization tools.
  • Experience with data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with aerospace systems, robotics, or simulation software.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols and data transmission in aerospace applications.
  • Familiarity with machine learning, AI, or data analytics tools.
  • Certification in software engineering or cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer).
