Senior Software Engineer

Senior MLOps Engineer – Remote (W2 Only, No Sponsorship) | $75/hr | Contract-to-Hire

We are hiring a Senior MLOps Engineer to support model training and serving in the Search domain. This is a remote, W2-only contract-to-hire opportunity with a pay rate of $75/hour. Candidates must be available during Eastern Time business hours.

Required Skills:

• Vertex AI (hands-on experience required) – Must be able to build and deploy model endpoints, interface with the online feature store, and work within the broader Vertex tech stack.
• CI/CD pipelines – Proven experience designing and maintaining ML workflows with a focus on production readiness.
• Monitoring and alerting systems – Experience implementing scalable, reliable alerting for ML services.
• Strong soft skills – Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate technical direction.
• Problem-solving orientation – Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of assessing complex environments to deliver scalable solutions.

Role Overview:

This role is focused entirely on MLOps—not general ML engineering. You will work closely with data science partners to deliver production-grade model training and serving capabilities that support business monetization strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain infrastructure for serving models in a live search environment.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines under the Vertex AI umbrella.
• Collaborate with product stakeholders to develop scalable business processes related to monetization.
• Support engineering needs tied to enterprise-level Search operations.
• Drive improvements in reliability, observability, and operational efficiency.
