What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a Game Designer to join our team and play a key role in defining the rules, mechanics, and progression systems, and work with developers, artists, and the producer to turn the game vision into reality.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain the Game Design Document (GDD).
- Define and balance the core loop (daily care, QR scanning, avatar growth).
- Design mini-games (Fusion, Match, Catch) including mechanics, scoring, difficulty, and rewards.
- Develop the progression and economy system:
- Growth points required per level.
- Avatar rarity distribution (common/rare/epic).
- Trading rules and fairness.
- Design rewards and incentives to increase daily retention and engagement.
- Collaborate with UI/UX to ensure mechanics are intuitive for 9–18 year olds.
- Work with Unity Developers to prototype and test mechanics.
- Tune difficulty, pacing, and reward frequency through iteration and player testing.
- Ensure compliance with COPPA/GDPR in gameplay flows (parental consent, notifications).
- Contribute ideas for future expansions (AI companion, social media integration, cosmetics).
- Define how avatars evolve (100 → 250 → 600 GP).
- Balance rarity system (4 common, 2 rare, 1 epic per world).
- Specify mini-game rules (Tetris-like Fusion, Memory-based Match, Catching system).
- Tune the trading system so duplicates are useful but not overpowered.
- Ensure kids return daily without feeling punished (avoid burnout).
Required Skills & Knowledge
- 3+ years of experience in game design (mobile or casual games preferred).
- Strong understanding of game loops, progression systems, and balancing.
- Experience designing for children and teen audiences (engagement + safety).
- Ability to write clear GDDs, balance tables, and progression charts.
- Proficiency in Excel/Sheets for balancing, Figma/Miro for flows.
- Familiarity with Unity workflows (to collaborate with devs).
Nice to Have
- Experience in collectible games, Tamagotchi-style systems, or trading mechanics.
- Knowledge of gamification and behavioral psychology.
- Familiarity with NFT/blockchain mechanics (for future expansions).
- Playtesting and user research experience with children/teens.
