Backed by some of the most influential names in luxury fashion globally. We blend advanced 3D rendering, AI and VFX techniques to deliver unparalleled shopping experiences for luxury fashion.
About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-directed Software Engineer (Simulation Tools) to join our team revolutionising the creation of complex digital assets for the fashion industry.
The ideal candidate would be comfortable working independently, managing ambiguity, and driving development through from concept to deployment. They would have a solid understanding of physics and mathematics in a practical context, and are well versed with modern software development practices. This role involves developing solutions to prepare 3D assets at scale for high-fidelity simulation with complex real-world materials.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement tools for configuring, managing and validating simulation workflows as part of a larger content pipeline.
- Develop automation around simulation asset preparation, execution, and results evaluation.
- Work alongside wider infrastructure teams to ensure tools operate reliably at scale and across distributed compute environments.
- Collaborate with the simulation engineering team to understand simulation tool needs and solver requirements.
- Integrate tools with third party software such as Unreal Engine and USD-based asset frameworks.
- Establish testing and QA procedures to ensure stability, reproducibility, and correctness of simulation outputs and parameter configurations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python, with experience developing production-grade tools or pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving ability with comfort in simulation, procedural systems, or numeric computation.
- Experience with 3D software platforms (Blender, Unreal Engine, Houdini).
- Understanding of QA methodologies for 3D content at scale.
- Familiarity with asset-based workflows and scene description tools (USD).
- Comfortable using version control systems like Git.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Confidence with physics-based simulation concepts, especially cloth, soft body, or particle dynamics.
- Experience designing or debugging tooling that interfaces with proprietary or third-party solvers (Houdini Vellum, NVIDIA Warp, or similar).
- Deep understanding of materials modelling (anisotropic, hyperelastic) and its application to real-world simulation and rendering.
- Knowledge of orchestration tools, batch processing, or compute scheduling.
- Exposure to C++.
What working with CATCHES is like:
- Fully remote-first, async-friendly, with optional co-working allowances.
- High-trust, low-bureaucracy environment that values experimentation and shipping.
- Early influence on product, architecture and engineering culture.
- A small, experienced team that cares about sustainable pace.
- Cutting-edge tech, luxury-fashion creativity, and game-industry scale challenges combined.
