Job Description

We are seeking a very senior Product Designer to join the QuickBooks design organization, supporting advanced accounting AI initiatives. This role requires a seasoned designer with strong interaction and visual design skills, capable of working across a complex organizational structure and influencing design decisions across multiple teams.

This contract role fills in while one of the design team’s members is on parental leave for 7 months, with potential for extension.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Lead the design of complex accounting experiences, focusing on AI-driven automation and operational workflows.
• Collaborate with a dedicated scrum team and product manager to translate concepts into high-quality designs.
• Bring design to code by partnering with engineers and other designers in different groups.
• Work within a complex, enterprise-level product with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Elevate design standards and raise the bar for visual and interaction quality across the organization.
• Rapidly onboard to the accounting domain, learn quickly, and build strong internal relationships.
• Tell compelling design stories and advocate for UX solutions with cross-functional teams.

Required Experience & Skills

• 8+ years of product design experience, with senior-level interaction design expertise.
• Strong visual design taste and experience working with design systems (e.g., Figma).
• Proven ability to design for complex systems and enterprise workflows.
• Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design, interaction design, and visual execution.
• Comfortable working operationally across multiple teams and navigating complex organizational structures.
• Experience influencing stakeholders and storytelling to get buy-in.
• Excited to learn accounting and capable of mastering new complex domains quickly.
• Agentic AI experience is a plus but not required.

Nice-to-Haves

• Previous experience designing for financial software, enterprise SaaS, or AI-driven automation.
• Exposure to large-scale, high-traffic platforms.
• Strong understanding of accessibility and responsive design in enterprise systems.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
