Senior UI/UX Designer (EdTech experience, designing for children/students)

We are looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer for a 100% Remote, 12 month +, 1099 contract

As a Senior UX/UI Designer will redesign the Career Interest Survey to make each question more engaging, using an AI chatbot to help guide the kids through it, so the chatbot would talk to you as you made your way through the questions.

Key Responsibilities

• Redesign Core Workflows: Overhaul the student survey and assessment interfaces to drastically increase focus, comprehension, and completion rates.
• Leverage AI & Conversational UX: Work closely with product and engineering teams to integrate our AI bot into the UI, turning static forms into dynamic, interactive dialogues.
• Design for K-12 Audiences: Apply deep knowledge of child psychology, cognitive load, and age-appropriate design patterns to create interfaces that captivate younger users.
• Gamification: Introduce subtle, effective gamification mechanics (rewards, progression, visual storytelling) that motivate students without distracting from the educational intent.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of UX/UI design experience, with experience specifically within the EdTech space, designing for children/students.
• Preferred: AI/Chatbot UX: Proven experience designing conversational interfaces, chatbot interactions, or integrating AI features into mainstream user workflows.
• Gamification Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing how you’ve turned low-engagement workflows (like forms, surveys, or assessments) into highly engaging experiences.
