Caspar Health was founded in 2016 and is setting new standards for the rehabilitation market. With new technologies and our close partnership with rehabilitation clinics, patients get access to the most effective digital rehabilitation with concurrent personal care - independent of time and location. With Caspar Health, therapists create and share therapy plans with their patients, and both parties interact with each other remotely.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer (all genders) with excellent skills in Ruby on Rails and experience in coaching and leading a team to join our team in Berlin or remotely from any other place in Germany.

About Us

Caspar Health is a digital rehabilitation clinic with a vision to provide patients with access to the most effective rehabilitation treatment at any time, any place.

Medical facilities use Caspar Health to conduct therapy measures online with their patients during their hospital stay and after discharge. The combination of learning technology with in-depth medical knowledge ensures that the therapy goal is achieved in a sustainable manner.

The services are covered by numerous pension insurance companies in the areas of rehabilitation, prevention and aftercare.

Aufgaben

• You will lead a senior engineering team of 4 using Scrum, ensuring the team collaborates effectively to achieve our goals, while of course also coding yourself
• You will lead, mentor and develop your team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth
• You will take responsibility for the technical direction of the Caspar Health applications from day one, driving the ongoing development of our product.
• You will develop new functionality and continuously improve the Caspar Health platform and services.
• You will collaborate closely with colleagues from Product Management, UX, QA, Analytics, DevOps, and Architecture disciplines to improve teamwork and exchange of knowledge
• You will leverage your expertise to refine and optimize development processes.
• You will contribute to the advancement of best practices in code quality, test automation, API design, CI/CD, information security management and software architecture.
• You will support the development of team members and foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• You will be a driving force in introducing new technologies and best practices

Profil

• You have extensive experience with Ruby on Rails and have previously led or mentored a team in this area.
• You possess expert-level experience using Ruby on Rails in production environments.
• You have a robust understanding of SQL and are proficient in PostgreSQL.
• You have a proven track record working with AWS infrastructure, including the integration of various AWS solutions.
• You are committed to ensuring scalability, testability, and maintainability in all deliverables.
• You have experience with end-to-end testing frameworks like Cypress and guide the team in implementing best practices for test coverage.
• You have experience with JavaScript frontend frameworks, ideally React
• You demonstrate a proactive, hands-on mentality with a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
• You excel in teamwork and communication.
• You have a solid command of English, both written and verbal.

In a Perfect World, You Additionally Have Experience With

Familiarity with AWS Cognito, Elemental MediaConvert and Lambda functions.

Experience with Docker, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes.

Experience exploring and experimenting with AI-driven approaches to unlock innovative possibilities and elevate developments.

Experience with Golang, JavaScript,TypeScript and IaC tools like Terraform.
