As one of our first engineering hires, you’ll work closely with our engineering team and play a critical role in shaping the technology and culture of an early-stage, high-growth startup.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead & Mentor: Guide and support frontend engineers, enforce best practices, and foster a culture of mentorship.
• Build & Scale: Develop user-friendly, high-performance frontend features in React. Consistently ship large features and improvements with minimal guidance.
• Full-Stack Collaboration: Work across the stack (ReactJS, Flask) to design, develop, and maintain new features in collaboration with other stakeholders
• Code Quality & Best Practices: Conduct code reviews, remove technical obstacles, and ensure engineering excellence. Shepherd the definition and improvement of our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work directly with the CTO and product team to translate business goals into technical solutions.

Technical Skills

Must-Have:

• Strong experience with React.js, TypeScript
• Proficiency in GitHub, Jira, Slack, and Figma as part of a modern development workflow.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Python/Flask and RESTful APIs.
• Professional experience working with NoSQL databases.
• Deep familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, etc). Familiarity with Firebase, Google Cloud Platform, Vercel, and generative AI are a plus.
• Deep understanding of API design and data processing pipelines.

Preferred experience

• 5 years of work experience as a full-stack engineer, preferably frontend
• Prior experience mentoring engineers.
