CarePortals is building the backbone of direct-to-consumer telehealth. Our mission is to help digital health providers launch fast, stay compliant, and scale with confidence. Our platform connects E-commerce, EHR, and CRM, and fulfillment into one seamless system—powering everything from online care stores to telehealth prescriptions. Think of us as Shopify meets healthcare infrastructure.
About The Role
As a Senior Full-stack Engineer at CarePortals, you’ll work directly with the founding team to architect and build the systems that power modern healthcare experiences. This is an opportunity to work across the stack, own key product areas, and help shape a platform used by some of the most innovative digital health brands in the North America.
We’re looking for a builder with product sense—someone who thrives in ambiguity, wants to ship quickly, and takes pride in clean, scalable software. If you’ve built 0→1 systems, love working cross-functionally, and want to impact how care is delivered, we want to talk.
What You’ll Do
- Ship features end-to-end across our MEAN-based stack (MongoDB, Express, Angular, Node.js).
- Help scale our core platform—integrating with third-party APIs (EHRs, pharmacies, telehealth networks).
- Build modular UI components, reusable backend services, and performant APIs.
- Own architecture decisions and contribute to long-term technical strategy.
- Collaborate with the founders on product vision, roadmap, and design.
- Write well-documented, well-tested code with an eye for maintainability.
- Solve complex challenges in compliance, multi-tenancy, payments, and data workflows.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years experience as a full-stack engineer in a startup or fast-moving product environment.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Angular, React, and Node.js.
- Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with modern CSS frameworks like Tailwind (preferred) or similar.
- Comfortable working across the stack, including backend logic, APIs, and UI.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.
- Experience in building paid SaaS products or developer platforms.
Nice-to-Haves
- Familiarity with AWS or serverless infrastructure.
- Experience with modern auth flows (OAuth, JWT).
- Exposure to compliance standards like HIPAA or GDPR.
- Experience with healthcare APIs (FHIR, eRx, labs, insurance billing).
Why You’ll Love It Here
- Early Ownership: Help shape a product and platform from the ground up.
- Remote Flexibility: Work from anywhere, async-first.
- Startup Impact: Join a lean team where your code directly drives business growth.
- Mission-Driven: You’ll be building technology that powers access to better care.
