Role Description
Title: Marketing & BD Manager – Federal, SLED and Commercial Programs
Reports To: CEO / Managing Partner
Location: Remote (Washington, DC Metro preferred)
Type of Opportunity: Contract, 1099
Summary:
We are seeking a versatile and hands-on Marketing and Business Development Manager to support our growth in federal markets, including cybersecurity, IT modernization, AI/ML, software, telecommunications, and construction. This individual will wear many hats—leading outbound marketing efforts, shaping BD strategy, identifying teaming partners, and supporting capture efforts. Ideal for someone with entrepreneurial drive and a deep understanding of federal contracting.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and qualify new opportunities using SAM.gov, GovWin, agency forecasts, and relationship-building.
Create targeted blogs and messaging tailored to agency needs, current contract vehicles and upcoming opportunities, and potential clients.
Conduct proactive outreach including cold calling and warm introductions to potential clients, teaming partners, and primes.
Schedule and lead BD meetings to explore opportunities and position the company and potential clients for upcoming procurements.
Build relationships with small and mid-tier government contractors.
Manage digital marketing presence (including composing blogs, emails, on various outreach platforms).
Track leads, contacts, and opportunities using lightweight tools (e.g., HubSpot).
Maintain a calendar of federal events, industry days, and forecast releases.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
3–7 years of experience in federal BD or marketing roles.
Broad understanding of small business programs (8(a), SDVOSB, HUBZone, WOSB, etc.).
Experience supporting capture and proposal development in cyber, IT, telecom, or construction environments.
Strong writing and content creation skills (e.g., capability statements, blogs, presentations, whitepapers).
Ability to operate independently and prioritize tasks.
Success Metrics:
Number of qualified leads and proposals submitted.
Win rate or downselect progression for targeted bids.
Growth in online engagement and capability visibility.
Partnerships established with government contractors and service providers
