Cantrip is a modern beverage brand redefining what it means to unwind. We craft hemp-derived THC and CBD drinks designed to deliver a light, sociable buzz—without alcohol and without hangovers. With the tastiest products in the THC category and no snake oil marketing, Cantrip is found in liquor stores, grocers, and bars across the U.S. We're building a category from scratch, and our brand is equal parts honest, bold, and fun.
The Role
We’re seeking a bold, strategic, and execution-driven Marketing Director to lead all facets of brand and growth marketing. This isn’t your typical CPG marketing job—we’re building a new product category with regulatory nuance, rapid market evolution, and a cultural stigma to rewrite. Your job is to make Cantrip not just a beverage, but a movement.
You’ll be central to the entire marketing ecosystem—from brand storytelling and channel strategy to consumer funnel performance and retail activation. Working witih our Creative Director and COO, you’ll be the connective tissue across internal teams (Sales, Ops, Product) and external agencies, aligning creative campaigns with business goals and regulatory compliance.
In this role, you must understand the complexities and challenges of beverage marketing. While the category is new, the format is not – this role is beverage first, and the star players are our taste and naturally extracted THC, but the game we are playing is still one of beverage. A strong knowledge of blocking and tackling in a similar role such as in alc-bev or in energy drinks will be a critical asset to this role; working knowledge of cannabis is a plus but can be taught by us.
We are looking for someone who understands that communicating their vision is just as important as executing it, as nothing gets done in a silo. Top tier communicators will thrive in this role. Experience and savvy can get you this job, but working in a novel category with a constantly evolving regulatory landscape will be different than anything you’ve done before – so be prepared to adapt what you’ve seen work elsewhere to an entirely new environment.
