Role Overview
Mercor is hiring experienced Rust Software Engineers with a strong background in code review and open-source collaboration. In this role, you will review real GitHub issues, pull requests, and test cases to audit quality, ensuring robust and production-ready contributions. Your work will directly support the evaluation and development of cutting-edge AI systems that analyze, reason about, and fix code across diverse language ecosystems.
Responsibilities
- Analyze GitHub issues, pull requests, and test cases for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
- Review real-world code submissions in Rust for correctness, readability, and maintainability.
- Identify bugs, edge cases, and improvement opportunities.
- Apply CI/CD, unit testing, and integration testing best practices during reviews.
- Provide structured, detailed, and actionable feedback on code quality.
Ideal Qualifications
- Proven proficiency in Rust programming.
- Experience with open-source projects and real-world bug fixes.
- Familiarity with large-scale codebases and Git/GitHub workflows.
- Strong background in code review and collaborative development.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern testing practices.
- Ability to triage and interpret real-world issue reports effectively.
- Based in the U.S., Canada, UK, Australia, or New Zealand.
Role Details

Compensation & Contract
- Rate: $85/hour.
- Weekly payments via Stripe Connect.
- Independent contractor classification.
