Odoo Senior Pre-Sales Engineer
An Odoo Senior Presales Engineer acts as a business expert within the sales process, bridging the gap between sales and technical implementation teams. Analyze prospective clients' business needs and demonstrate how Odoo's ERP features can solve their specific problems and drive value.
Responsibilities
- Conduct product demonstrations and workshops: Lead customized product demos and presentations to showcase how Odoo's features and solutions address a client's specific business challenges.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements: Run discovery sessions and needs assessments to understand customer requirements, business processes, and pain points. Document these findings in a Software Requirements Specification (SRS).
- Design tailored solutions: Propose and outline solutions using Odoo modules and workflows, including creating tailored Proof of Concepts (POCs) for potential clients.
- Support the sales process: Assist the sales team by providing in-depth product knowledge during meetings with clients and stakeholders. This includes answering technical questions and addressing client concerns.
- Respond to RFPs and RFIs: Help the sales team by preparing and delivering comprehensive responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Create scope of work documents: Draft Statements of Work (SOWs), project plans, and effort estimates for proposed projects.
- Ensure a smooth handover: Collaborate with the implementation team to ensure a successful transition from pre-sales to project delivery.
Requirements
Experience and qualifications
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business, Information Technology, or a related field is typically required.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in pre-sales, solution consulting, or an Odoo functional consultant role is often needed. Experience with Odoo implementation and support is a strong asset.
- Technical knowledge:
- Deep knowledge of Odoo ERP across various modules, such as CRM, Accounting, Inventory, Sales, and HR.
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, and system integrations via APIs.
- Strong understanding of different business processes.
- Odoo Certification: While not always mandatory, an Odoo certification can be a significant advantage.
Soft skills
- Communication and presentation: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with diverse stakeholders, from end-users to C-level executives. Could simplify complex technical concepts.
- Analytical and problem-solving: The ability to understand complex business problems, perform gap analysis, and design effective solutions is critical.
- Interpersonal and relationship-building: Build trust with clients and collaborate effectively with sales, marketing, and technical teams.
- Negotiation: Skills in persuasion and negotiation are needed to help close sales and set realistic client expectations.
- Organizational and time management: Manage multiple sales opportunities and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
