LOCATION: Remote (primary) with occasional on-site activities required at the client site in the Northern Capital Region (NCR).

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Applicants must be U.S. citizens and must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Department of Defense (DoD) issued SECRET level security clearance during employment.

We are seeking a Senior Marketing and Information Analyst to provide strategic communications, content development, and instructional support to the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) program. This role integrates instructional design expertise with senior-level marketing and stakeholder engagement functions. You will develop high-impact materials that communicate program value, improve user understanding, and facilitate the adoption of DISS capabilities across the Defense and Security communities.
As a senior team member, you will lead the development of briefing decks, user guides, slick sheets, and training materials that align with DoD branding, policy compliance, and stakeholder needs. This position is ideal for a dynamic communicator who understands DoD systems, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can translate complex security or system information into clear, actionable content.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Communications & Marketing

  • Develop and maintain strategic messaging and outreach materials for DISS to engage internal and external stakeholders, including military branches, security officers, and federal program offices.
  • Produce polished slick sheets, executive summaries, and capability overviews that clearly convey the DISS mission, features, and value proposition.
  • Design and deliver briefing materials for senior leadership, governance boards, user forums, and interagency presentations.

Instructional Design & Training Development

  • Lead the creation of educational and onboarding content, including user guides, quick-start manuals, and training slide decks tailored for DISS users and administrators.
  • Apply instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to structure and deliver adult learning content in support of software rollouts, system updates, or security policy changes.
  • Support the transition of complex technical or process information into simplified, accessible formats suitable for non-technical audiences.

Stakeholder Engagement & Content Leadership

  • Serve as the primary liaison between communications, training teams, and DISS technical SMEs to ensure content accuracy, policy alignment, and branding consistency.
  • Conduct regular reviews of materials to incorporate stakeholder feedback, compliance requirements, and evolving system capabilities.
  • Provide editorial oversight, version control, and visual design recommendations for all customer-facing content.

Information Analysis & Optimization

  • Assess and recommend improvements to training delivery methods, communications strategies, and product documentation based on usage trends and user feedback.
  • Ensure materials comply with DoD communications standards, 508 accessibility requirements, and security review processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Instructional Design, Marketing, Technical Writing, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing communications, instructional design, or training content development, with at least 3+ years supporting DoD programs.
  • Proven experience developing materials for enterprise IT or security-related systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and visual design tools (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, Canva).
  • Strong understanding of federal branding standards, technical writing, and adult learning principles.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and stakeholder communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting the DISS program, NBIS, or other DoD security and personnel vetting systems.
  • Familiarity with JPAS decommissioning and transition messaging.
  • Knowledge of 508 compliance, Agile content development, or user experience (UX) documentation principles.
  • Experience managing communications plans, editorial calendars, or stakeholder communications strategies.
