The Role
We’re looking for a Lead Graphic & Motion Designer to raise the creative bar for how we tell stories through visuals and how SaaS products are visualized and communicated. This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll be creating standout work yourself while directing a small team of designers/animators to deliver BX-level quality across every output.
The role is highly client-facing—you’ll interpret ambiguous briefs, pitch creative solutions, and guide stakeholders toward bold yet clear visual directions. You’ll also help shape the processes and standards of an emerging design function, ensuring smooth collaboration across design, motion, and web teams.
Beyond developing UI abstractions and other visual/motion graphics for web, you’ll play a key role in creating brand collateral and pitch materials that support both our clients and BX Studio internally.
What You’ll Do
Lead & mentor a team of 2 designers/animators, providing clear direction, elevating their work, and building process for a growing department.
Design & animate graphics for SaaS interfaces, abstractions, data visualizations and infographics that communicate complex stories with clarity and impact.
Develop illustrative and brand-aligned graphics, applying branding expertise and design systems with consistency.
Storyboard and concept animations that demonstrate product value and user experience.
Champion visual storytelling—raising the quality and originality of how SaaS products and brands come to life.
Bring clarity to ambiguity by turning loose or complex feedback into actionable creative solutions.
Work directly with clients—presenting concepts, gathering feedback, and shaping creative outcomes that align with business goals.
Collaborate with UX and web design teams to seamlessly integrate graphics and motion into site designs.
Design brand and sales collateral including pitch decks, social graphics, reports, and client-facing documents for both digital and print applications.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years in graphic design & motion design, with strong B2B SaaS product experience required.
Strong portfolio showcasing UI abstractions, data visualization, illustrative graphics, and motion/animation for SaaS or complex products.
Proven ability to lead creative direction and set visual standards across teams and projects.
Skilled in design system application and brand storytelling.
Experience implementing creative processes and workflows in a design department or agency setting.
Excellent client-facing communication: confident presenting, explaining, and defending creative strategy.
Strong leadership skills—experience guiding a small creative team highly preferred.
Proficiency in industry-standard tools (Figma, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, PowerPoint/Google Slides; bonus for 3D).
