Job Title: EMR Implementation Project Manager (Ambulatory / Med Spa)
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Contract (8–10 weeks)
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on EMR Implementation Project Manager to lead the final phase of an ambulatory EMR and practice management system rollout for a growing healthcare platform specializing in plastic surgery and med spa services.
This role is critical to ensuring a successful go-live within a tight timeline, bringing structure, urgency, and accountability to an in-flight implementation. The ideal candidate has direct experience leading EMR implementations in outpatient clinical settings and can proactively drive execution across clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
This is a high-impact, execution-focused role requiring strong leadership, communication, and the ability to quickly stabilize and accelerate delivery.
Key Responsibilities
EMR Implementation Leadership
- Lead end-to-end execution of an EMR and practice management system implementation
- Drive readiness for go-live (target date: June 8) across clinical and operational teams
- Ensure all workflows (clinical, scheduling, billing, and operations) are properly configured and tested
- Bring structure and accountability to an active, in-progress implementation
Project Management & Execution
- Own and maintain a detailed project plan and roadmap, ensuring alignment across stakeholders
- Track progress against milestones, proactively identifying risks and resolving blockers
- Drive timeline accountability, ensuring all contributors meet deadlines
- Maintain a centralized action item log with owners and due dates, following up on all deliverables
Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate across practice-level teams — surgeons, nurse injectors, aestheticians, ASC staff, and front office — as well as corporate platform leadership (SVP of Operations, CFO, OPs Managing Partner).
- Facilitate meetings with clear agendas, documentation, and follow-ups
- Provide structured, regular status updates to both operational teams and executive leadership
- Act as the central point of communication across all stakeholders
Vendor & System Management
- Partner closely with EMR vendor teams to manage timelines, scope, and issue resolution
- Ensure responsiveness and accountability from external vendors
- Identify and escalate gaps in implementation, configuration, or support
Risk Management & Governance
- Proactively identify risks, delays, and gaps—escalating early and often
- Ensure the team operates from a single source of truth for project status and deliverables
- Maintain governance over scope, timelines, and execution quality
