Our client is launching an innovative Shopify-based platform in April that simplifies procurement in the cafe supply space. With a major trade show presence lined up, this is your chance to get in early and influence both design and direction in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
Job Highlights
Hourly Rate: The equivalent of US$ 11.35 per hour in the applicant’s local currency
Number of Paid Hours Per Week: 20 hours a week
Schedule: Monday through Friday 9am - 1pm San Jose, CA time
Work Arrangement: Work from home
Contract: Independent Contractor
Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize a user-friendly interface for our Shopify-based e-commerce platform, catering to both cafe owners and suppliers
- Develop a distinct and appealing visual identity that resonates with our target audience and sets us apart in the market
- Create intuitive user flows for key processes such as member login, product browsing, and supplier onboarding
- Collaborate closely with our marketing team to ensure brand consistency across all digital touchpoints
- Implement responsive design principles to deliver a seamless experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
- Conduct user research and usability testing to refine continuously and improve the platform
- Design eye-catching marketing materials for both digital and print use, including conference brochures for our upcoming trade show
- Develop a comprehensive style guide to ensure consistent branding across all platforms and materials
Requirements
- Strong Shopify experience
- Experience in UI/UX design for e-commerce platforms
- E-commerce experience with familiarity with how online stores operate, particularly in a wholesale/B2B environment.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your design process, problem-solving skills, and ability to create visually appealing interfaces
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite
- Solid understanding of web design principles, typography, and color theory
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to communicate with developers effectively
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions
- A passion for coffee culture and an understanding of the cafe industry is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and meet tight deadlines
- Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Enthusiasm for staying up-to-date with the latest design trends and e-commerce best practices
