Technical Product Owner (TPO)

This role is highly focused on driving enterprise AI initiatives across customer-facing and internal systems. Theyre looking for a Product Owner with a strong .NET/Azure development background who has evolved into a technical leader capable of owning and delivering AI-enabled products at scale.
You will serve as the bridge between business strategy and engineering execution—owning the backlog, guiding development priorities, and ensuring successful delivery of AI-powered capabilities integrated into modern distributed systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own and manage the product backlog for a .NET-based, cloud-native and AI-enabled application ecosystem
- Lead the planning and execution of enterprise AI initiatives, from concept through production
- Define and refine user stories with clear technical and AI-specific acceptance criteria
- Partner with engineers and architects to design and deliver:
- RESTful APIs and microservices
- Event-driven systems (Kafka, Azure Service Bus, Event Grid)
- AI-integrated application workflows
- Drive the integration of AI/ML capabilities into applications, including:
- Personalization and recommendation systems
- Intelligent automation and decisioning
- Conversational AI and LLM-based features
- Apply and guide best practices in context engineering (prompt design, context management, data grounding, and response optimization for LLM-based systems)
- Collaborate with teams leveraging:
- Azure AI services (Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, Azure ML)
- Data pipelines and model integration workflows
- Participate in architecture and system design discussions, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions
- Review and approve completed work, ensuring alignment with both business goals and technical quality
- Support release planning and deployment of AI-enabled features in Azure environments
- Drive Agile ceremonies and ensure delivery of high-impact features
- Act as a key stakeholder in aligning AI strategy with product and engineering execution
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software development, product ownership, or a hybrid technical role
- Previous hands-on development experience with C# and .NET
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud environments
- Proven experience leading AI/ML initiatives in an enterprise environment
- Strong understanding of:
- APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Event-driven architecture and messaging systems
- Cloud-native application design
- Practical understanding of LLM-based systems and AI integration patterns
- Experience with or strong knowledge of context engineering, including:
- Prompt design and optimization
- Context window management
- Data grounding and retrieval (RAG concepts)
- Experience defining and prioritizing work for engineering teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience transitioning from Software Engineer to Product Owner or Technical Product Manager
- Hands-on experience with:
- Azure OpenAI or similar LLM platforms
- Machine learning pipelines and model lifecycle
- Data platforms supporting AI workloads
- Familiarity with:
- Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS)
- Observability tools (Application Insights, OpenTelemetry)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep)
- Experience in eCommerce, retail, or high-scale digital platforms

- Product Owners without technical or development background
- Candidates without real experience leading AI initiatives
- Individuals who use AI terminology but lack understanding of implementation and integration
- DevOps/SRE profiles without product ownership experience
- Candidates who cannot engage in technical discussions around AI systems and architecture
