To support this mission, OSIT has embarked on a multi-year modernization journey, within which the Software Engineer will play a key role: working within our legacy application as we update it to a cloud-native platform which follows modern design standards.
Responsibilities
- Designs, codes, tests and debugs applications and components that meet all technical specifications and business requirements per assigned work items.
- Collaborates closely with stakeholders, product owners, and feature team on developing requirements
- Refines business requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions.
- Perform code reviews
- Operational Excellence – build, deploy, monitor, and operation of production services.
- Communicates effectively with business stakeholders and technical team.
- Mentors junior software engineers
- E2E ownership from intake and refinement to deployment of production applications as well as monitoring and support.
Job Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or related field or related field or 4 years’ relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 2+ years’ experience in:
- Cognizant Facets and dental claims management
- EDI 837D format standard
- Full lifecycle of software development projects in an agile environment.
- Hands-on technical expertise in building web applications and RESTful web services.
- MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or other similar relational database management system.
- .NET Core or similar object-oriented programming language.
- Angular, Single SPA, or other TypeScript frameworks / libraries and micro frontends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience with Event Driven Architecture
- Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) and application containerization, deployment, and orchestration across environments.
- Experience with CI/CD and test automation (Playwright, Cucumber, JMeter)
- Experience building cloud-native applications in Azure or similar cloud service provider including Azure cloud constructs like Blobs, Service Bus, Vault, Entra ID, Functions etc.
- Experience with Helm, Terraform, Flux, and other infrastructure as code supporting technologies
- Experience with ETL and data formats e.g. JSON, XML.
- Experience with Agile Scrum and/or Less framework.
- Basic understanding of HIPAA, PHI, PII
- Basic understanding and ability to troubleshoot applications running within Kubernetes.
- Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and automated provisioning & configuration management.
- Basic understanding of networking and internet protocols.
- Basic understanding of logging, monitoring, and observability tools e.g. Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, Elasticsearch, App Insights
- Basic understanding of ServiceNow incident management intake flow
- Knowledge of Encryption, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), understanding of OWASP
- Knowledge of Domain Driven Design methodology
