Role:

Senior Java Developer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer who is passionate about building robust, scalable, and high-performance RESTful backend applications. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Java 17, Spring Boot, and REST API design, with a strong background in unit and integration testing.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining REST APIs and backend systems, ensuring smooth functionality, security, and scalability. You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java 17 and Spring Boot
• Build scalable backend services following REST best practices (HTTP methods, status codes, versioning)
• Write clean, maintainable, and high-performance code
• Ensure code reliability through strict unit testing and integration testing
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, and other stakeholders to define and ship new features
• Design and implement scalable system architectures
• Integrate APIs with databases and external services
• Work with CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes
• Debug production issues and optimize API and system performance
• Participate in code reviews and maintain technical documentation

Must-Have Requirements:

• Strong experience with Java 17 & Spring Boot
• Proven experience in designing and developing REST APIs
• Hands-on experience with unit and integration testing (JUnit, Mockito, MockMvc, etc.)
• Solid understanding of system architecture and API design
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, etc.)

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• API-related practices such as API versioning, validation, error handling
• Contract Testing, Monitoring & Logging (e.g., ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Production debugging and performance optimization
• Product ownership or leading major system components
• Frontend exposure (Node.js, JavaScript, React, etc.)

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• An attitude for learning
