Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Backend Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in developing and optimizing the API layer of applications using Python and MySQL. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust RESTful APIs using Python frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django Rest Framework (DRF).
• Optimize API performance, ensuring low-latency, high-throughput responses.
• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms (JWT, OAuth, etc.) for secure API access.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define API requirements.
• Integrate APIs with MySQL databases, ensuring efficient data retrieval and storage processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot API performance using tools like NewRelic, Postman, or similar.
• Write unit and integration tests to maintain high code quality and reliability.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for smooth deployment processes.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL, including query optimization and database design.
• Hands-on experience in developing RESTful APIs and working with HTTP methods, status codes, and request/response cycles.
• Familiarity with API security best practices (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Understanding of cloud platforms and deployment tools (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in ***Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in backend development, specifically with API design and integration.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
• Familiarity with message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (NewRelic, Grafana).
