The Technical Lead is responsible for guiding the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet organizational goals and technical standards. This role bridges strategic vision with hands-on execution, ensuring that implementations are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with product and business objectives.
As a key member of the engineering organization, the Technical Lead provides technical direction, mentorship, and oversight to software engineers. The role collaborates closely with architects, product managers, QA, DevOps, and IT Operations to ensure that development efforts are cohesive, efficient, and aligned with enterprise architecture and delivery practices. At higher levels, the Technical Lead may assume people management responsibilities, including performance planning, goal setting, coaching, and conducting reviews.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the design, development, and delivery of technical solutions that meet functional, performance, and security requirements.
- Translate architectural vision and product requirements into actionable technical plans and development tasks.
- Provide day-to-day technical oversight to engineering teams, including code reviews, design validation, and troubleshooting.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable code; contribute to critical or complex components.
- Collaborate across product, architecture, QA, and DevOps to ensure end-to-end delivery quality.
- Mentor engineers to strengthen technical depth, development discipline, and problem-solving skills.
- Advocate and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and CI/CD processes.
- Identify and resolve technical risks and dependencies early in the development lifecycle.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and tools to drive modernization and improve delivery efficiency.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
- (Senior levels) Lead performance goal setting, conduct reviews, and manage individual development plans for direct reports.
- (Senior levels) Contribute to resource planning, hiring, and career pathing for engineering staff.
Technical Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong proficiency across modern Microsoft and web development technologies, with hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining complex enterprise applications.
Go Outdoors Tech Stack Requirements
- Experience in software development with a strong focus on C# and .NET.
- Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., Angular, React, Blazor).
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Familiarity with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and ORMs (e.g., Entity Framework).
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Exposure to DevOps practices and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Contributions to open-source projects or technical blogs.

- Experience: 9+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership of multiple or cross-functional teams.
- Skills: Expertise in designing and delivering scalable, distributed systems and modernizing legacy solutions.
- Capabilities: Ability to influence architectural direction and translate business needs into actionable technology strategies.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of software delivery processes, architecture principles, and emerging technologies.
- Leadership: Experience with people management—conducting performance reviews, setting goals, and fostering professional development.
- Influence: Proven ability to shape technical culture, drive innovation, and align engineering execution with organizational priorities.
Compensation & Benefits

- The position offers an annual base salary ranging from $110,500.00-$130,000.00
- determined by factors such as geographic location, skills, qualifications, and experience. Based on their skill level, the candidate will be placed within Brandt's job architecture at a level of Senior II.
