Every transaction — whether a boat registration, campground reservation, or educational event ticket—contributes to conservation efforts and enhances outdoor recreation opportunities.

The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that meet business and technical objectives. This role works closely with Technical Leads, Architects, Product Managers, QA, and DevOps to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, performant, and maintainable.

The Software Engineer contributes to the full software development lifecycle — from design and implementation to deployment and support. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional engineering team.

At the more senior level, the Software Engineer may take on additional responsibilities such as mentoring junior engineers, contributing to technical design discussions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain software components and applications in alignment with business requirements and technical standards.
  • Develop clean, maintainable, and testable code following established design patterns and best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads, Architects, and other engineers to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Debug, optimize, and refactor existing code for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes.
  • Contribute to API design, integration development, and service reliability improvements.
  • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation and operational guides.
  • Stay current with new technologies, frameworks, and development practices to continually enhance skills and team capabilities.
  • (Senior levels) Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team-wide knowledge sharing and process improvements.

What You Will Need

  • Experience: 6+ years of professional experience developing enterprise or cloud-based systems.
  • Skills: Deep proficiency in .NET/C#, ASP.NET MVC, Angular, and SQL Server; familiarity with distributed systems, containerization, and security best practices.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of cloud (Azure or AWS) services, API design, and performance tuning.
  • Capabilities: Ability to mentor others, participate in architectural discussions, and champion engineering excellence.
  • Leadership: Drives technical improvements, advocates for best practices, and contributes to team-wide quality and efficiency.

Itinio Tech Stack Requirements

  • Experience in software development, with significant experience in ColdFusion (Adobe ColdFusion or Lucee).
  • Strong understanding of web application architecture, MVC frameworks, and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle).
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and integration with ColdFusion backends.
  • Experience with ColdBox or other ColdFusion frameworks.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience in migrating legacy ColdFusion applications to modern platforms.
