2025 is a critical time for UXF to deliver on a brand refreshed design system while simultaneously bringing the library and tooling up to a higher level of quality that meets more of the product team’s needs. This is a shift that increases the breadth and depth of the design system as well as its influence on the product.

Scope of Work

The Design Systems contributor will be responsible for the following:

Systems Design & Execution
Design and document refreshed components with a focus on complex, macro-level systems across all platforms (web, iOS, Android).
Create net-new components as needed to expand the Collage system.
Produce Figma-ready components that are polished and finalized (no additional design refinement expected from others post-handoff).
Implement visual and interaction design details aligned with a refreshed brand direction. (No brand exploration is expected; work should reflect the existing brand decisions.)
Generate accompanying usage documentation for each component, including:
Do/Don’t examples
Rationale and design intent
Expected code behavior and implementation notes
Conduct design audits to identify gaps or inconsistencies within the system.
Strategic Guidance
Primarily expected to execute against already prioritized roadmap items.
May be consulted on roadmap direction or component prioritization in partnership with the team lead.
Support in evolving or formalizing design system governance processes.
Provide expert advice on design system architecture.
Help guide strategic direction for the design system's evolution.
Collaboration & Integration
Participate in all Design Systems team rituals, including standups and crits.
Collaborate with developers and design system teammates. (Direct integration with product designers’ active workstreams is not expected.)
