Job Description: Software Engineer, Autonomy
We are seeking a high-impact Software Engineer, Autonomy to design and deploy the intelligent systems that power our advanced robotic platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for the "brains" of the machine, developing the core perception, planning, and control algorithms that allow autonomous systems to navigate and interact with complex, real-world environments.
You will work at the intersection of robust software engineering and cutting-edge robotics research, moving beyond simulations to solve the hard problems of deploying reliable code to physical hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Algorithm Development: Design and implement production-ready algorithms for core autonomy modules, including Sensing & Perception, Localization, and Path Planning.
- Multi-Agent Systems: Develop distributed autonomy algorithms to enable coordination and safe mission execution across multi-robot systems or swarms.
- On-Vehicle Platform: Build and maintain the core software platform that integrates various sensors (LiDAR, cameras, IMUs), payloads, and software modules.
- Simulation & Validation: Utilize high-fidelity simulation environments to validate system performance and safety before deploying to hardware.
- Field Testing & Prototyping: Perform on-site testing and electronics troubleshooting of complex mixed hardware-software systems to ensure mission-critical reliability.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of professional software engineering experience specifically in Robotics or Autonomous Vehicles.
- Coding Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in C++ and Python within a production environment.
- Technical Foundations: Strong grasp of linear algebra, probability, and robotics middleware such as ROS/ROS2.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% for on-site testing and hardware integration.
