About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist with strong experience in medical image analysis to join an international healthcare-focused project. You will work 100% remotely as part of the Imaging Analytics team, applying modern AI and computer vision methods to medical image data from clinical trials.

The consultant must be based in Poland – even though the role is 100% remote, the person must live in Poland during the contract.

Candidates cannot be based in other European countries – only Poland-based applicants will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and improve advanced medical image processing pipelines
• Develop deep learning models using PyTorch, Scikit-learn, etc.
• Handle data preparation, cleaning, and curation for imaging projects
• Assess the quality of image data and machine learning outputs
• Work closely with clinical experts to understand project needs
• Set up and maintain computing environments (local/cloud-based)

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in computer science, engineering, physics, mathematics, or similar
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience (post-doc or professional) in medical image analysis
• Strong knowledge of deep learning techniques: CNNs, Transformers, etc.
• Experience working with medical imaging types such as MRI, CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, or Digital Pathology
• Skilled in image segmentation, classification, object detection
• Ability to create production-ready AI/ML models
• Proficient in Python, version control (Git), and cloud tools (e.g., AWS, Azure ML)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with imaging biomarkers in pharmaceutical or medical device projects
• Familiarity with regulatory standards in medical or healthcare R&D
