We’re looking for a Marketing Specialist (freelance/contract) located in Calgary who shares this approach: someone who can turn research into strategy, guide clients with confidence, and collaborate seamlessly with our team.
We need someone who is proactive, accountable, and comfortable leading clients through high-impact marketing initiatives. If you love digging into insights, crafting meaningful strategies, and bringing clarity to complex challenges, you’ll thrive in this role.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct & Execute Research – Design and execute empirical, qualitative, and quantitative research, including desk research, customer interviews, focus groups, surveys, and digital analytics. Translate findings into actionable insights.
- Develop Marketing Strategies – Use research insights to craft strategies that help clients connect with their audiences, strengthen positioning, and drive impact.
- Shape Brand Positioning & Messaging – Lead clients through brand discovery exercises to define their positioning, messaging, and, when needed, name development. Provide direction to the creative team to bring the brand to life.
- Support Client Engagement & Strategy Execution – Join and sometimes lead client meetings, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs. Collaborate with the Project Manager to execute research and strategy work effectively.
- Guide Website Strategy & Development – Work with clients to define goals, gather insights, and collaborate with creative and development teams to build high-impact websites.
- Drive Creative Strategy for Advertising Campaigns – Work with clients to define needs, create clear creative briefs, and collaborate with designers to develop programmatic ad assets that deliver measurable results.

The Fine Print
- Freelance/contract role – You are required to work as part of a team. There are opportunities to work independently but most projects require collaboration with others.
- Remote with Some In-Person Meetings – Calgary-based or surrounding area preferred.
- 3+ Years of Experience – In marketing strategy, research, and digital projects (agency experience is a plus).
- Compensation: Competitive and based on experience (between $30-$45 CAD per hour to start)

Work Arrangement
We’re a global team, working across many different time zones BUT put an emphasis on collaboration…meaning we make an effort to stay connected. While this role is primarily remote, there will be some in-person meetings. Our core office hours are 7:30 AM–4:30 PM MT.
