Software Engineer in Test - Python

Job Title: SDET (Python – Data Testing Focus)

Location: Remote, must be based in Mexico

About the Role

We are hiring a Python-focused SDET to support our client's data QA initiatives. You'll focus on testing data pipelines and analytics platforms using Python and AWS tools, while helping define standards and frameworks for scalable, automated QA practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Build automated test scripts for data validation and transformation workflows
• Use Python, YAML, and Great Expectations to create quality gates in data pipelines
• Perform validations on Parquet files, S3 buckets, and AWS Glue-based ETL workflows
• Partner with Devs and QAs to embed automated data testing in sprint cycles
• Participate in evolving our client's QA maturity model and synthetic data framework

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in test automation with Python
• Experience with data validation using Great Expectations or similar libraries
• Working knowledge of AWS ecosystem (S3, Glue, Lambda, etc.)
• Familiarity with YAML, SQL, and distributed testing environments
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset
• English fluency (please submit English version resume)

Nice to Have

• Exposure to synthetic data generation frameworks
• Experience using ADO (Azure DevOps) for tracking and test case management
• Ability to coach and mentor less experienced team members
