Mid-level UI Designer

OVERVIEW

BLK Labs is seeking a UI/UX Designer to support the design of web, mobile, and digital product experiences for clients across different industries. This remote role contributes to the full design lifecycle, including design research, user flows, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, design system usage, and close collaboration with developers.

The ideal candidate should be able to translate business requirements, product ideas, and user needs into clean, intuitive, and visually polished digital interfaces. This role requires strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with developers, project leads, and stakeholders.

This is a fully remote role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work closely with project leads, developers, and stakeholders to understand product requirements, user needs, and business goals, then translate them into practical and user-friendly design solutions.

Create user flows, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and high-fidelity interface designs for web applications, mobile applications, dashboards, websites, and digital platforms.

• Design clean, modern, and responsive interfaces across desktop, tablet, and mobile screens.
• Prepare developer-ready design files, assets, components, and handoff notes.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
• Conduct design research, competitor reviews, and usability analysis where required.
• Maintain consistency across screens using design systems, reusable components, and brand guidelines.
• Review implemented designs and provide UI feedback on spacing, layout, typography, colors, responsiveness, and user experience.
• Participate in design reviews, product discussions, sprint planning, and internal feedback sessions.
• Support the creation of presentation visuals, product demos, pitch mockups, and client-facing design materials when needed.
• Stay updated on modern UI/UX practices, tools, design trends, accessibility, and product design standards.

REQUIRES SKILLS

• 2–5 years of experience as a UI/UX Designer, Product Designer, Visual Designer, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, including layout, hierarchy, typography, spacing, color, responsiveness, usability, and interaction design.
• Demonstrated experience designing web apps, mobile apps, dashboards, websites, landing pages, or digital product interfaces.
• Proficiency with Figma or similar design tools.
• Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity designs, reusable components, and organized design files.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage assigned tasks responsibly.
• Experience collaborating with developers, project managers, or product teams.
• Strong communication skills, especially in a remote work environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to solve design problems practically.
• Portfolio or samples of previous UI/UX design work are required.

BONUS SKILLS

• Experience working with software agencies, startups, product teams, or client-based projects.
• Experience conducting user research, usability testing, customer journey mapping, or design audits.
• Familiarity with frontend development concepts such as HTML, CSS, React, responsive layouts, and design-to-development handoff.
• Experience designing dashboards, admin panels, SaaS products, fintech platforms, marketplaces, AI products, or e-commerce platforms.
• Experience using design systems, component libraries, and brand guidelines.
• Degree, diploma, certification, or practical training in Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design, or a related field is a plus.
