The invitation
Most design careers ask you to pick a lane and stay in it.
We're offering the opposite.
Blacksof is one of the first studios building integrated design as a real role — not a buzzword on a careers page. That means one designer, genuinely fluent across three crafts: UI/UX, Visual Communication, and Motion.
If you've ever felt that a single discipline was a little too small to hold everything you wanted to make — this role was written for you.
Why this role exists
We could hire three specialists. We'd rather grow one integrated designer.
Here's our thinking: nobody experiences a brand in fragments. A screen, a system, a motion, a line of copy — to the person on the other side, it's all one thing. Design that's stitched together by three different people often feels exactly like that: stitched together.
So we built a role that mirrors how brands are actually experienced — whole.
This role lives at the intersection of:
UI/UX Design — how things work and feel to use
Visual Communication Design — how ideas are seen and understood
Motion Design — how stories move, breathe, and hold attention
Wrapped around all of it: integrated design thinking and brand communication.
You won't be boxed in. One week you might be shaping a digital experience, the next a visual system, and after that a communication piece that ties a whole brand together. And you'll never do it alone — you'll work closely with our strategy, copy, marketing, and development teams, because good design rarely happens in isolation.
What you’ll actually do
● Translate business problems into intuitive digital experiences
● Build user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI
● Design websites, landing pages, digital platforms, and communication assets
● Create motion and interaction that make stories move
● Build visual systems that hold up against brand strategy
● Present your thinking clearly — because "it looks nice" isn't a strategy
● Explore AI-assisted workflows for ideation, design generation, and concept development
● Keep brand and communication consistent across every touchpoint
● Collaborate closely with strategists, developers, marketers, and writers
The craft we're looking for
You don't need to know everything on day one. But you should care — deeply — about craft, clarity, and problem-solving.
The fundamentals we'll look for:
● Strong command of typography, hierarchy, layout, and usability
● The ability (or the genuine ambition) to work across UI/UX, visual, and motion design — integrated design is the goal, not a single specialism
● Fluency with Figma and the Adobe toolkit
● The ability to explain a design decision without hiding behind jargon
● Curiosity about AI-assisted design and prompt-based creative exploration
● A preference for experimenting over recycling templates
● Comfort moving between structure and chaos without freezing up
Educational background that fits well: M.Des in UX / Interaction / Communication / Visual / Product / Innovation Design.
You might be a great fit if…
● You're disciplined and dependable — you do what you say you'll do
● You'd rather solve a problem than wait to be told how
● You learn fast, and adapt faster when priorities shift
● You're comfortable in a fast-growing environment where things evolve often
● You're creative and organized — not one at the expense of the other
● You notice the details most people walk past
● You're genuinely curious about systems, patterns, and human behavior
● You can balance big ideas with the discipline to execute them
● You believe design should influence decisions, not just decorate them
● You like figuring things out, and don't need constant hand-holding
What we offer (beyond the salary conversation)
We'll talk numbers later — that conversation always happens. What's harder to find, and what matters more day to day, is the kind of place you'll actually spend your time in.
A few things we've worked hard to make true at Blacksof:
● A learning-first culture. We're built around curiosity. Continuous skill-building, open brainstorming, healthy debate, and staying abreast of where the industry is heading are part of the job — not extras.
● Permission to experiment — and to fail early. We'd rather you try something bold and learn fast than play it safe. Our rule of thumb: fail early, and succeed on time.
● Ownership, not supervision. You'll be trusted with real responsibility and the autonomy to make decisions — not managed over the shoulder.
● Cross-functional exposure. You'll work across branding, strategy, communication, and digital experiences, alongside a team that genuinely collaborates instead of operating in silos.
● A culture that respects you as a person. Mutual trust, transparency, and fairness — plus a real regard for work-life balance, health, and happiness. Caring is something we practice, not something we print.
● Wins worth celebrating. We take the work seriously, not ourselves. Small wins get celebrated, humour is welcome, and we think enjoying the work is a feature — not a distraction.
● Work that stays interesting. Priorities evolve, projects change, and the search for better systems, better thinking, and better experiences never really stops.
At Blacksof, the search is always on — for better work, and better people to build it with.
