Role Overview
Reporting to the CEO and supporting our two founding partners, the Director of Business Development & Marketing is a pivotal, client-facing role dedicated to driving client experience excellence and firm growth. This role will oversee strategic communications, nurturing leads into key relationships, optimize CRM management, enhance digital engagement, and ensure seamless internal coordination. This leadership position includes supervision of either an external digital marketing agency (currently) and/or a Digital Marketing Manager (may be hired), requiring proactive problem-solving, strategic foresight, and refined communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
· Act as the primary initial contact for high-value client and referral inquiries, delivering polished, strategic introductions.
· Guide client and referral relationships from initial interaction to long-term engagement using CRM systems (e.g., Bigin).
· Facilitate seamless communication and handoffs between business development, marketing, operations, and legal teams.
Strategic Support & Execution
· Establish, monitor, and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relating to client engagement, relationship and CRM management, new client intake, and digital marketing
· Prepare founding partners for strategic meetings with organized insights leveraging CRM data and other internal resources (OneNote, SharePoint).
· Proactively identify opportunities, anticipate client needs, and manage potential risks within key relationships.
· Draft strategic, professional communications that enhance client trust and firm reputation.
CRM & Process Leadership
· Lead CRM system management, ensuring meticulous documentation, actionable insights, and accurate forecasting.
· Build scalable systems to measure and optimize client engagement, sales processes, and conversion rates.
· Integrate CRM effectively with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and other platforms to enhance workflow efficiency.
Business Development
· Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to finalized engagements, establishing predictable lead flow processes.
· Oversee client appreciation initiatives (e.g., premium gifts, personalized experiences) and actively identify cross-selling opportunities.
Digital Strategy
· Supervise our current external digital marketing agency (currently) and/or Digital Marketing Manager (to be hired), ensuring alignment with firm objectives and consistent execution of brand strategy.
· Lead the development and implementation of the firm’s email marketing strategy, including content planning, systematic distribution of monthly newsletters and ad hoc e-alerts, and CRM integration to ensure personalized outreach.
· Spearhead the development and launch of a firm-branded podcast, including selection of hosting platform, content calendar development, video production and editing workflows, and post-publication promotional strategy across digital channels.
AI & Technology Strategy Development
· Identify and implement AI-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency, client experience, and internal workflows.
· Collaborate with operational leadership to develop and execute an AI roadmap, including automation, predictive analytics, and advanced client service applications.
· Utilize data analytics for continuous optimization of engagement strategies.
Communication Oversight
· Handle prospect and referral email workflows with speed and clarity, crafting impactful templates for outreach and onboarding.
· Facilitate strategic interactions on behalf of firm leadership, ensuring consistent and personalized engagement.
