Software Engineer

As a dedicated Software Engineer you will help shape and deliver aspects of the Bigdatr roadmap in relation to technical solutions. On a day to day basis you will work with fellow engineers to best align technical solutions with product objectives and product vision, fostering a culture of excellence across all engineering related functions.

Role Objectives

This role requires an ability to:

• Foster a culture of excellence and trust across the engineering functions.
• In partnership with fellow Engineers, you will conduct R&D on upcoming objectives to ensure solutions are well considered and the ideal path to completion is defined, enabling the product team to efficiently execute pitches.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions to ensure the smooth functioning of software systems.
• You will poses strong communication skills and be a natural collaborator, doing so with authenticity and inclusivity.

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves:

• 3 to 4 years industry experience. This is a mid level role with the view to develop and progress as our organisations scales into new international markets.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript expertise, including modern JavaScript features and strong typing practices - this is a none negotiable.
• Expertise in OpenSearch/Elasticsearch for managing search and indexing - this is a none negotiable.
• Full-stack development experience, including backend services, API integration, and database interactions.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, with experience deploying applications using AWS CDK.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies and best practices for maintainable code.

Nice-to-Haves:

• GraphQL knowledge, including designing queries and schema definitions.
• Experience with React and frontend development, including custom components, hooks, and state management.
• UI/UX implementation skills to convert designs into functional and well-styled components.
• State management experience for handling complex UI interfaces.
• Performance optimisation skills, including data fetching and rendering efficiency.
• Strong knowledge of modern web standards and development practices.
• Experience integrating and presenting AI-generated data within applications.
• Understanding of internationalisation and country-specific feature flagging.
