Description
Expert role that focuses on building, coding, developing and optimizing increasingly dynamic and responsive HTML emails. Creates email campaigns utilizing HTML/CSS, troubleshoots technical issues, creates dynamic content using scripting language, and renders testing. Lead role for uploading email creative/templates in the ESP, creating versions, testing dynamic content, and distributing tests to core team members. Thought-partner on the email-evolution steering committee and recommends testing and enhancements, complex workflow optimizations, and how to leverage the ESP to implement new tools and tactics to achieve business goals. Highly collaborative position that works with multiple teams across the organization including marketing creative, content, IT, Salesforce, web team, analytics and multiple marketing vendor partners.
- Leads daily marketing email production activities including uploading digital assets, HTML coding, Ampscript applications, testing, and general QA activities.
- Applies dynamic content rules and configures link tracking within batch and automated emails.
- Performs quality assurance and validation of dynamic content and data.
- Ensures content change management steps are performed for accurate tracking and communications.
- Links building and validation within the Salesforce Marketing Cloud ESP.
- Uploads email assets to the email platform.
- Partners with the Marketing Content Planning team to action change requests and/or production schedules.
- Serves as an expert on email production and user experience best practices and educating teams.
- Leverages problem-solving skills to address and solve unique technical problems that arise.
- Keeps current on industry standards and new best practices in email technical development.
- Maintains ownership of content integration and templates within the Salesforce Marketing Cloud using both HTML development and Content Builder.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or technical/design equivalent degree required.
- Minimum three to five years of HTML email coding experience.
- Minimum two years of hands-on experience working with an ESP or marketing automation tool such as Salesforce.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce Content Builder highly preferred.
- Knowledge of email design, mobile design, and coding best practices required.
- Able to seek out opportunities for continuous improvement within a quickly evolving technical landscape required.
- Demonstrated proficiency with HTML, CSS, and Ampscript required.
- Experience in A/B testing, email testing, and preview tools required.
- Demonstrated proficiency coding for emails, web banners, and other digital marketing collateral required.
- Experience with CMS (Content Management) or DAM (Digital Asset Management) systems preferred.
- Proven experience in working with dynamic content (products, data elements) required.
- Able to multitask, thrive, and meet deadlines for content publication in a fast-paced retail environment required.
- Effective and proven time management and project management skills preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to interact with and learn from internal and external partners required.
- Strong team-focused, collaboration skills preferred.
