ServiceNow Developer

The Developer is responsible for realizing requirements through configurations, integrations, and testing within the ServiceNow platform. This role ensures the technical implementation and the overall quality of delivered solutions. Effort estimations and implementation time planning are carried out independently based on the assigned user stories. A comprehensive understanding of platform capabilities paired with a structured, solution-oriented working style is essential. Additionally, the necessary test cases must be independently defined, coordinated, and documented.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing and assessing existing system environments and interfaces (including legacy applications)

• Developing and integrating system components

• Performing module, functional, and integration tests, preferably in an automated manner (e.g., using ATF)

• Ensuring technical quality through proper logging, monitoring, and issue analysis

• Producing and continuously updating technical documentation (including operations manuals)

• Adhering to and documenting technical standards in accordance with the defined Technical Governance framework

• Proactively communicating risks, issues, and potential improvements to the Product Owner

• Supporting maintenance activities, incident and problem management, and providing 2nd/3rd level support

Required Skills

• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in developing and configuring within the ServiceNow platform (as outlined in the role description and criteria)

• Preferably holds relevant certifications (e.g., CSA, CAD, CIS, CTA, CWA)

• Experience working with agile methodologies (e.g., SAFe, Scrum) and familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Git

• High degree of commitment, flexibility, hands-on attitude, initiative, and personal responsibility

Mandatory Requirements / Proof of Qualification

• Completed education in computer science or a technical field from a higher technical college (HTL), university, or applied sciences institution (or an equivalent qualification), or at least 5 years of professional experience in IT

• At least 3 years of verifiable ServiceNow software development experience within the past 5 years

• Strong practical experience with modern software quality assurance processes and tools

• Solid hands-on experience with cross-functional tools and infrastructure such as Jira/Confluence, MS Office, and Miro

• Minimum of one year of proven experience in agile software development and participation in agile teams, including at least one year as a developer in such teams

• Fluency in German (C1 level or above) and very good English skills (B2 level or above
