Position: Data Scientist
Location: Remote (EU-based, EU citizenship or right to work in EU required)
Contract: July 11, 2025 – June 30, 2026
Rate: Up to €45/hour
Overview
Join our client's project supporting a major banking group’s global rollout of advanced transaction monitoring. You’ll lead model development for customer segmentation and financial crime detection across 30+ subsidiaries, refining and deploying machine learning solutions at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and refine machine learning models for classification, clustering, and risk segmentation.
- Analyze and process financial transaction data, optimizing detection models for scalability and efficiency.
- Perform advanced statistical modeling, parameterization, and scenario threshold tuning.
- Work extensively with Apache Spark (including internals), Python, and Git to deliver and operationalize analytics.
- Collaborate closely with data engineering and business teams for integration and continual improvement.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Data Science or related field
- 7+ years of ML/AI model development experience (post-master’s)
- Strong grasp of clustering and classification algorithms
- Experience with financial transaction data
- Hands-on expertise with Apache Spark (including internals), Python, and Git
- Excellent written and verbal English
- Experience in FinCrime or banking (preferred, not required)
