Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer
Location: Remote (U.S. only)
Employment Type: Contract (6 Months) W2
This position is W2 only – no C2C or 1099 arrangements will be considered.
Role Overview
BEPC is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to support the full lifecycle development of real-time, safety-critical navigational software for one of our leading clients in the aerospace industry. The role requires immediate engagement with legacy systems and a strong focus on new feature implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of embedded navigational software.
- Analyze and decompose requirements into executable development tasks.
- Develop low-level drivers, hardware abstraction layers, and interfaces using C/C++.
- Integrate and test systems using both simulation and real hardware environments.
- Collaborate on the certification process with safety and regulatory bodies.
- Engage in factory deployment and ongoing product support.
- Work within a complex conditional build environment supporting multiple hardware configurations.
- Use tools such as BitBucket, Jira, and Visual Studio Code.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
- 7+ years of experience in embedded software engineering using C/C++.
- Experience with:
- Mentor Graphics Nucleus RTOS and low-level driver/HAL development.
- IMU sensors for motion, ranging, or aiming applications.
- Hardware bring-up and complex embedded architectures.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with GPS (M-Code) integration and Kalman Filter development.
- Prior experience in safety-critical or mission-critical systems.
- Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall development lifecycles.
- Experience in navigational systems and sensor fusion design.
- Proficiency in software configuration tools (Git/BitBucket, Jira).
- Ability to work across diverse and global teams.
- Proven ability to deliver under pressure and communicate complex ideas effectively.
Contract Details
- Rate: $90/hour (W2)
- Term: 6 months
- Location: Remote (U.S. only)
