Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Remote (U.S. only)

Employment Type: Contract (6 Months) W2

This position is W2 only – no C2C or 1099 arrangements will be considered.

Role Overview

BEPC is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to support the full lifecycle development of real-time, safety-critical navigational software for one of our leading clients in the aerospace industry. The role requires immediate engagement with legacy systems and a strong focus on new feature implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of embedded navigational software.
• Analyze and decompose requirements into executable development tasks.
• Develop low-level drivers, hardware abstraction layers, and interfaces using C/C++.
• Integrate and test systems using both simulation and real hardware environments.
• Collaborate on the certification process with safety and regulatory bodies.
• Engage in factory deployment and ongoing product support.
• Work within a complex conditional build environment supporting multiple hardware configurations.
• Use tools such as BitBucket, Jira, and Visual Studio Code.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
• 7+ years of experience in embedded software engineering using C/C++.
• Experience with:
• Mentor Graphics Nucleus RTOS and low-level driver/HAL development.
• IMU sensors for motion, ranging, or aiming applications.
• Hardware bring-up and complex embedded architectures.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with GPS (M-Code) integration and Kalman Filter development.
• Prior experience in safety-critical or mission-critical systems.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall development lifecycles.
• Experience in navigational systems and sensor fusion design.
• Proficiency in software configuration tools (Git/BitBucket, Jira).
• Ability to work across diverse and global teams.
• Proven ability to deliver under pressure and communicate complex ideas effectively.

Contract Details

• Rate: $90/hour (W2)
• Term: 6 months
• Location: Remote (U.S. only)
