Growth & Lifecycle Marketing Director

BehindTheChair.com — the world’s largest community for salon professionals — is looking for a Growth & Funnel Marketing Director to help shape the future of how beauty professionals connect, learn, and shop online.
For 25 years, BTC has been the home for more than 3 million stylists worldwide — a place where creativity meets education and inspiration meets opportunity. Across our six social channels, BTC reaches an audience of over 4 million followers, generating billions of views and engagements each year.
Now, we’re building something even bigger: a digital ecosystem and subscription-based platform that helps beauty pros grow their craft, confidence, and income — all in one place.

Your Mission
You’ll be the architect of BTC’s digital growth engine — turning our massive social reach and deep industry trust into measurable results. From scroll to signups to sales, you’ll create systems that transform attention into action.
This is a role for someone who’s both strategic and scrappy. You’ll start by identifying the low-hanging fruit — quick wins that can move the needle fast — and then build out long-term strategies that strengthen our foundation and drive sustained growth.
You’ll collaborate daily with a talented, predominantly female team of designers, paid media specialist, and editors who move quickly, think creatively, and love what they do. If you thrive in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment where ideas become action quickly — you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Do
Funnel & Growth Strategy
- Identify and execute quick-win growth opportunities while developing long-term funnel strategies that scale.
- Design and manage end-to-end funnels that move BTC’s 5M+ social media audience from awareness → engagement → email capture → sale or subscription.
- Create compelling calls-to-action, link-in-bio experiences, and landing pages that convert traffic into leads or purchases.
- Build and optimize funnels for BTC’s digital education, the BTC Show, and upcoming subscription platform.
- Use data, A/B testing, and audience insights to continuously improve conversion and performance.
HubSpot & Automation
- Own marketing for BTC’s HubSpot CRM — building forms, workflows, and automated email journeys that nurture leads and drive revenue.
- Segment audiences by behavior and engagement to create personalized experiences.
- Build high-performing email funnels that convert awareness into loyalty and purchases.
Collaboration Across Teams
- Work with BTC’s editorial and social teams to turn stories, videos, and posts into conversion opportunities.
- Partner with the paid media and design teams to create visually engaging, results-driven campaigns.
- Collaborate with the advertising and brand partnerships team to design co-branded funnels and campaigns for BTC’s manufacturer partners — including Redken, Paul Mitchell, Matrix, Wella, and others.
- Build forms, landing pages, and data-driven campaigns that give our partners measurable ROI and deeper engagement with BTC’s audience.
Subscription & Lifecycle Strategy
- Support BTC’s transition into a subscription-based model, shaping funnel flows, retention strategies, and premium user experiences.
- Develop journeys that nurture new subscribers, increase engagement, and drive renewal and upsell opportunities.
You’re a Great Fit If You:
- Have 6–10 years of experience in digital marketing, growth, and funnel strategy.
- Can spot quick wins immediately but also think strategically about scaling systems.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where creativity and urgency go hand in hand.
- Are fluent in HubSpot (forms, automations, workflows, dashboards).
- Have experience creating email funnels, lead magnets, and landing pages that convert.
- Understand subscription, membership, or recurring revenue models.
- Love working with a passionate, collaborative team — mostly women — who are driving change in the beauty industry.

Compensation & Growth
- Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 base + performance bonus
- Reports to: VP of Marketing
- Direct Reports: 2 (Paid Media + Design/Creative)
