Role Summary

As Beakon’s early software engineer, you’ll play a huge role establishing the architecture and processes that will serve as our technology platform. You’ll utilize AI/ML to extract real-time threat signals from large datasets, such as news, social media, and police radio, as well as develop agents that execute custom-tailored threat responses in real-time.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture and technical leadership

• Drive the technical vision, ensuring a scalable and maintainable architecture.

• Make key technology decisions and establish best practices for development and deployment.

• Hands-on development

• Build and ship core features, writing clean, efficient, and well-tested code.

• System reliability and security

• Design resilient, fault-tolerant systems that can handle mission-critical workloads.

• Implement best-in-class security practices to protect sensitive data and infrastructure.

• Scaling and team-building

• Lay the groundwork for scaling both the product and engineering team.

• Mentor and hire top engineering talent to help grow the company.

Challenges

• Use AI/ML to extract insightful threat signals from massive datasets, such as news, social media, dark web, and police radio.
• Use generative AI agents to mine threat signals.
• Use generative AI agents to manage enterprise physical security.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years experience in backend or full-stack development
• Fluency in one or more modern languages, such as Python or JavaScript
• Knowledge of key cloud provider services

Preferred Skills

• Experience at an early stage startup or as an early engineer on a major project
• Strong applied AI/ML fundamentals (Langchain, Model fine-tuning, RAG, agentic frameworks, etc)
