Role Summary

We’re looking for a mid-level product designer with experience creating user-centered designs for enterprise software. You will play a pivotal role in designing solutions across Beakon’s core features, including situational awareness dashboards, automation engines, and contact/asset management systems. You will also leverage AI interaction design principles to create intuitive, data-driven experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Design Execution

• Own and maintain interactive prototypes for both web-based and mobile Beakon experiences.
• Develop and refine design concepts for new and existing features.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes to communicate design solutions.
• Design AI-driven features, including predictive insights, automation triggers, and interactive notifications.
• Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to iterate on designs.

User-Centered Design & Research

• Lead user experience research in collaboration with Product Management and customers.
• Conduct research to understand user needs, workflows, and pain points.
• Advocate for user-centered design, integrating direct customer feedback into product decisions.
• Collaborate with data and AI teams to design interfaces that present complex information clearly and intuitively.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment

• Work closely with Product Management and Engineering to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
• Partner with stakeholders to align design decisions with business goals and product strategy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights, validate design choices, and refine user experiences.

Design Quality & Consistency

• Own, maintain, and evolve Beakon’s design system to ensure consistency across all products.
• Define and document reusable components, interaction patterns, and best practices.
• Ensure designs align with Beakon’s brand identity and meet accessibility/usability standards.
• Define and refine interaction patterns that make AI-driven features intuitive, trustworthy, and actionable.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in product design, preferably within enterprise SaaS, security technology, or AI-powered platforms.
• Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
• Strong understanding of UX principles, including information architecture, usability, and accessibility.
• Experience designing AI-driven interfaces, such as predictive dashboards, data insights, or chatbot-style features.
• Ability to conduct user research and apply findings to improve designs.
• Strong visual design sense (layout, typography, color theory) and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to present and justify design decisions.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex design problems under tight timelines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with security or emergency response technology is a plus.
• Familiarity with conversational design, notifications, or real-time data visualization patterns.
• Experience contributing to or managing a design system.
