Job Title: Motion Designer – Instagram Design Studio (Remote)

Duration: 3+ Months

About the Role

This is not a traditional motion design role focused on campaigns or marketing content.

As a Motion Designer supporting the Instagram Design Studio, you will design and build motion experiences that live directly inside the product. Your work will power the effects, transitions, and visual behaviors used by millions of creators every day.

This role sits at the intersection of motion design, product thinking, and creative technology — where ideas are not just visualized, but implemented at scale.

What You’ll Do

• Design and produce motion assets for in-product features, including text animations, transitions, and video effects
• Create motion systems and behaviors that enhance real-time creative tools
• Collaborate closely with creative coders, engineers, and designers to bring concepts to life inside the product
• Translate motion concepts into production-ready assets, specifications, and documentation
• Contribute to scalable visual systems, ensuring consistency across features
• Work under the guidance of Creative Directors and Art Directors to deliver high-quality, polished experiences

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in motion design, animation, or visual effects
• Strong portfolio demonstrating product-integrated or interactive motion work
• Expertise in VFX and animated graphics with a strong visual design foundation
• Proficiency in After Effects and Figma
• Experience working in real-time or interactive environments
• Ability to collaborate with engineers and translate design into implementation

Nice to Have

• Experience with shaders, post-processing effects, or creative coding workflows
• Background in filmmaking, editing, or short-form video production
• Familiarity with prototyping tools or pipelines
• Exposure to 3D VFX or emerging AI-driven creative workflows
