Join Balsam International as a Junior Automation Engineer and immerse yourself further in the world of software quality assurance and testing. You'll be assisting in the development, testing, and maintenance of software applications, collaborating closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
What you’ll be doing:
Automation Design & Development
- Designs, develops, and maintains automated test scripts using standard automation tools and frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO, Typescript, etc.)
Integration & Execution
- Collaborates with senior engineers to integrate software solutions into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
Quality Collaboration & Defect Resolution
- Investigates and debugs test failures, providing detailed reports and collaborating with the development team to resolve issues promptly.

- Works with the Test Architect to design and implement the Automation framework.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and manual test engineers, to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
- Participates in agile ceremonies like scrum meetings, sprint planning, and project retrospectives, and provide feedback.
- Executes end-to-end test scenarios manually as needed.

What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in QA automation or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of Java and JavaScript
- Willingness to learn and work with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Jmeter,JUnit, TestNG)
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication and collaboration skills
- Must be flexible to support US hours meetings
- Accustomed to Agile Development
Nice to have:
- eCommerce retail experience is a plus
- Experience in performance testing and security testing is a plus
Location: The Junior Automation Engineer position is a remote working position for Balsam International Unlimited Company - Philippine ROHQ in Manila. Team members in the Philippines are located within Metro Manila, Bataan, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, Rizal, and Tarlac areas only.
Our must-haves:
- Must attend occasional in-person meetings.
- Must have a fast, reliable DSL, Fiber, or Broadband connection (not mobile or broadband stick) as the primary internet connection with a minimum actual speed of 50MBPS.
Note: An online assessment will also be part of the recruitment process.
Status: This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.
