Job Description
This is a remote position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator with a strong background in data integration to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security, as well as designing, developing, and implementing data integration solutions using FiveTran and/or HVR. This is a mid-level position requiring excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL databases, including database modeling, schema design, and data migration, replication, failover, load balancing, optimize database performance, including query optimization, indexing, and encryption
  • Develop and implement database backup and recovery procedures, including point-in-time recovery and disaster recovery
  • Troubleshoot database issues, including performance problems, data corruption, and connectivity issues, database security, including access control, and authentication
  • Design, develop, and implement data integration solutions using FiveTran/HVR, including the configuration and management of data replication, transformation, loading processes, auditing, and security patches
  • Troubleshoot data integration issues and optimize data channel performance, using the FiveTran/HVR integration tool
  • Utilize PostgreSQL built-in monitoring and diagnostic tools, auditing and logging capabilities, and maintain procedures and documentation


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
5+ years of experience in data integration, with a focus on FiveTran and/or HVR
US Citizen
  • Strong understanding of data replication, transformation, and loading concepts
  • Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and/or Redshift databases, including:
    + SQL programming (e.g. stored procedures, functions, queries)
    + Database design and modeling
    + Performance tuning and optimization
  • Familiarity with data replication tools, such as:
    + Oracle Goldengate
    + Dataiku
    + Other data integration platforms (e.g. Talend)
  • Experience with Linux operating systems, including:
    + Basic command-line interface (CLI) skills
    + Scripting languages (e.g. Bash, or Python)
    + System administration and troubleshooting
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data integration issues
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience with cloud-based data integration platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g. Git)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $77814 - $132283

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
