About the Role

We’re seeking a highly strategic and detail-oriented Interim Retention Manager to lead our email and SMS retention efforts while our current manager is on maternity leave. This is a mission-critical role focused on optimizing our customer lifecycle marketing to drive engagement, loyalty, and repeat purchase. You’ll oversee the day-to-day execution of automated flows and campaigns, while also identifying opportunities for segmentation, personalization, and revenue growth.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role best suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, knows how to turn data into action, and can seamlessly balance strategy with execution.

Key Responsibilities

Retention Strategy & Execution

• Lead short- and mid-term retention initiatives to maximize LTV and reduce churn
• Own and optimize lifecycle flows including welcome, cart abandonment, post-purchase, win-back, and loyalty journeys
• Leverage data to refine segmentation, targeting, and personalization tactics
• Execute end-to-end email and SMS setup, QA, scheduling, and deployment via Klaviyo and Yotpo
• Partner with creative and e-commerce teams to ensure campaigns are visually compelling and brand-aligned

Performance Optimization

• Monitor key retention KPIs: open/click-through rates, CVR, AOV, churn, and flow-driven revenue
• Run A/B tests to validate hypotheses and improve outcomes
• Deliver clear weekly performance reports with actionable insights for stakeholders
• Proactively identify underperforming flows and recommend optimizations

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in retention, CRM, or lifecycle marketing with a focus on email and SMS
• Advanced proficiency with Klaviyo, Yotpo, and similar CRM tools; bonus points for experience with Attentive
• Strong command of retention metrics like LTV, churn, and cohort behavior
• Highly analytical mindset with a proven ability to translate data into action
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Able to work autonomously, juggle multiple priorities, and move quickly without sacrificing quality
• Experience with loyalty or rewards programs is a plus
