The design craft is shifting fast — less pixel-pushing, more prompting and rapid prototyping. As an AI Product Designer at Aviato Consulting, you'll lead that shift. You'll think like a product owner as much as a designer zooming out past features to the product vision, the outcomes that matter, and the bets worth making then using frontier AI tools to compress the distance between idea and working product. You'll collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business leaders to research, design, prototype, and hand off cloud products at a pace the old playbook can't match. This is a role for someone who's genuinely curious, learning by doing, and excited to be in the code, not just the canvas.
Key Responsibilities
- Think Product, Not Just Pixels: Connect every design decision back to the product vision, user outcomes, and business goals
- Prototype at the Speed: Use AI tools like Google Stitch, Gemini Code Assist, VS Studio to turn ideas into working prototypes in hours, not weeks.
- Vibe Code with Confidence: Work directly in code - shaping components, flows, and interactions alongside engineers rather than throwing static mocks over the fence.
- Design User-Centered Experiences: Keep the user at the centre of every decision, using AI to explore more options, faster, without losing the craft.
- Accelerate Research: Apply AI to synthesise interviews, usability sessions, and competitive teardowns - surfacing insight in a fraction of the traditional time.
- Own End-to-End Delivery: Take ownership across research, design, prototyping, and documentation - ensuring seamless, code-ready handoffs to developers and stakeholders.
- Collaborate Across Functions: Partner closely with engineers, PMs, and business leaders so AI-generated work lands in production with clarity and intent.
- Design in Systems: Work in components, design tokens, and reusable architecture, evolving the design system and AI prompt patterns so prototypes stay coherent across products and convert cleanly into production code.
- Push the Frontier: Continuously test new AI tools, models, and workflows - sharing what works, killing what doesn't, and raising the bar for the whole team.
- Iterate Relentlessly: Use real usage data and user feedback to refine prototypes and production experiences, shipping improvements in tight loops.
Mandatory Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in product/UX/UI design, preferably on SaaS or cloud-based applications.
- A strong portfolio with contemporary case studies that clearly show AI-accelerated design, rapid prototyping, and learning-by-doing in practice.
- Deep proficiency in Figma, plus hands-on fluency with AI design and prototyping tools (e.g., Google Stitch, Gemini Code Assist, VS Studio, v0, Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable, or similar).
- Comfortable getting close to code — using AI tools to produce working prototypes and collaborating confidently with engineers, even if you're not writing production code yourself
- Proven track record of embracing frontier AI practices across research, design, prototyping, and documentation.
- Solid foundations in interaction design, information architecture, and user-centred design principles.
- A genuine product mindset and able to think past features to vision, outcomes, and trade-offs, and hold your own in product strategy conversations.
- Experience running user research and usability testing, including AI-assisted synthesis.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills - able to bring stakeholders along on a fast-moving craft shift.
- Demonstrated curiosity and passion for how AI is reshaping the design industry - and a bias to experiment, not wait.
- Ability to work independently and juggle multiple fast-moving projects.
- Bonus: Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g Flutter), motion/animation tools, or building internal AI design tooling.
