About the Role: The Director, Strategic Marketing will implement a structured strategic marketing framework and work closely with product line managers to understand unmet customer needs in the region and deliver solutions that provide differentiated economic value to Aviat’s customers. The candidate will also work with corporate marketing and sales to define and implement lead generation programs to drive lead funnel growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop economic value propositions for Aviat products and services to customers in Americas region.
- Perform voice of customer analysis and work closely with sales to build strategies to grow Americas regional business
- Build and drive marketing plans for key growth initiatives. working with marketing campaign managers and PLM to implement specific marketing activities to promote Aviat solutions
- Build market opportunity assessments for new areas of growth
- Contribute to Market Requirement Documents (MRD) for new software products and features - establish customer requirements and release schedule and priorities
- Build total cost of ownership and customer economic analyses to establish segment-based pricing for Aviat differentiation.
- Develop customer documentation for product promotion and sales enablement such as slide presentations, white papers, case studies and other collateral
- Responsible for the rollout of all Aviat solutions to sales and drive customer adoption.
- Interface with PLM and Engineering organizations for product features and requirements.
- Work proactively with sales team on new opportunities and driving new business
- Effectively communicate product plans and roadmaps to key internal and external customers, such that solutions are well positioned and understood
- Ensure sales are trained on the product offering, availability, and system tools – focusing on economic value propositions
- Work with corporate marketing on development and implementation of lead generation strategies.
- Work with corporate marketing to define the promotional activity plan, including tradeshow plan, conference and speaking event activity
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the telecommunications field preferred
- 10+ years of experience in product marketing, technical marketing, or technical sales engineering
- Strong background in the telecommunications industry, with expertise in microwave transport
- Proven analytical skills to interpret and evaluate data from diverse sources
- Proficiency in mathematics and statistics, with the ability to derive actionable insights, develop models, and provide pricing recommendations to key stakeholders
- Strong collaboration skills to effectively work with sales, marketing, and operations teams to determine and set pricing strategies
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and navigate competing priorities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering value
- Ability to work effectively across functions and lead multi-dimensional projects
