Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Mid-Level Data Scientist with a strong background in computer vision, deep learning, and transformer models. As a Data Scientist at Averroes.ai, you will be working on innovative projects, developing state-of-the-art models, and contributing to building AI-driven solutions that impact real-world applications. This is a remote position, offering flexibility to work from anywhere while collaborating with a dynamic team of AI experts.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, train, and fine-tune computer vision models using deep learning techniques (e.g., CNNs, RNNs, GANs) and transformer-based architectures (e.g., Vision Transformers, DETR).
- Apply transformer models to enhance vision-based tasks such as image classification, object detection, segmentation, and multi-modal learning.
- Work with large datasets, clean and preprocess data, and apply advanced computer vision algorithms to solve complex problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (researchers, engineers, and product managers) to define, design, and implement AI-powered solutions.
- Continuously improve and optimize models for scalability and performance in production environments.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in deep learning, computer vision, transformer models, and related technologies.
- Conduct research, publish findings, and present technical results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot model performance issues and iterate on model design to meet business goals.
Required Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience in computer vision, deep learning, and transformer models.
- Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
- Solid understanding of computer vision techniques, including image classification, object detection, segmentation, and tracking.
- Experience with transformer models and architectures (e.g., Vision Transformers, Transformers for image processing, DETR, etc.).
- Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model validation techniques.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) for model deployment and scaling.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for AI and machine learning.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or related field.
- Experience with generative models (e.g., GANs, VAEs) and reinforcement learning.
- Familiarity with deployment frameworks like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of edge computing or mobile deployment for computer vision models.
