We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join a high-performing engineering organization focused on scaling and modernizing a global e-commerce platform. You will play a key role in shaping architecture decisions, driving engineering excellence, accelerating delivery through AI-powered workflows, and leading modernization initiatives across multiple product domains.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle including architecture, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support.
• Design and implement scalable solutions for a modern e-commerce ecosystem.
• Drive technical innovation using AI tools, copilots, automation, and agentic workflows to improve engineering productivity and quality.
• Provide technical mentorship, coaching, and guidance to engineers across different seniority levels.
• Partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to deliver customer-centric solutions.
• Champion engineering best practices such as clean architecture, observability, CI/CD, automated testing, and performance optimization.
• Influence long-term architectural strategy focused on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Lead modernization initiatives, reduce technical debt, and simplify legacy systems.
• Own production reliability, alerting, incident response, and operational excellence.
• Produce technical documentation including system diagrams, technical proposals, onboarding guides, and architecture decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience in e-commerce / retail platforms.
• Deep expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Node.js.
• Strong front-end experience with React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
• Proven expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, and design patterns.
• Experience leading technical teams and delivering production-grade software at scale.
• Strong experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with NoSQL/document databases.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with AWS or GCP in cloud-native environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Advanced English communication skills.

Nice To Have Skills

• Experience implementing AI-powered engineering workflows.
• Experience with recommendation engines, personalization, search, or checkout systems.
• Exposure to high-volume transaction systems.
• Experience with observability platforms (Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, etc.).
• Prior experience in global marketplaces or omnichannel commerce.
• Experience guiding multiple teams in Principal / Staff level positions.
