O que você fará

We are looking for a Software Engineer to help us build and evolve our highly distributed and scalable applications. A successful candidate will be a well-rounded software development engineer with a proven track record of delivering application/services at scale in an Agile environment.

As a Software Engineer, you will join a team of seasoned engineers responsible for the scaling, availability, and architecture of critical (Tier 1) platform services in the Cross Border domain. You will be building and supporting opportunities for Cross Border Avalara product portfolio to meet the needs of massive growth and a rapidly evolving business environment.

• Work across all phases of the development lifecycle (planning, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support)
• Collaborate with team, cross functional teams, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and come up with the best technical solution which are simple and intuitive
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to problems.
• Support production systems, both for users and through operations/devops
• Collaborate effectively with team members and expert groups on code reviews and test plans with an eye towards automation
• Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos.
• Test software to ensure performance, responsiveness and efficiency.
• Address non-functional requirements like security, performance, and load for the product
• Work daily with remote development, other teams in US and India time zones.

O que precisa possuir para ser bem sucedido

• You have worked on products in an agile environment at a product based company that used CI/CD methodology.
• You know how to build applications and the key principles of object-oriented programming language.
• You have delivered working production solutions using Java, JavaScript, and MySql/Postgress.
• You have experience using AWS and/or GCP to develop and deploy production applications
• You are experienced in using Git for for source code and Terraform to define and maintain infrastructure.
• You feel confident using English to present ideas to customers and colleagues based in India, EMEA, and the United States.
• You enjoy learning new technologies. In this role, you’re a real-time problem-solver that can easily assess the architecture of technical issues. You ask questions and are willing to learn new ways to solve problems
