Data & Analytics Engineer

What You'll Do

Avalara’s Engineering Operations team is seeking a Data & Analytics Engineer to aid our team in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and analytics infrastructure. As a Data & Analytics Engineer, you will help empower our engineering organization by building and enhancing analytics applications and a modern data platform. The ideal candidate will have deep SQL experience, an understanding of modern data stacks and technology, and an ability to support innovation and manage complex projects. Proven experience with Snowflake and leveraging python to automate tasks is preferred.

What You'll Need to be Successful

Primary Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field
• 3 years of experience in a data scientist/engineer-related occupation, including 3 years of experience in each of the following: BI, advanced SQL, scripting using Python, advanced data visualization, building dashboards, and building data visualizations in PowerBI and/or Tableau

Alternative Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field
• 5 years of progressive, postbaccalaureate experience in a data scientist/engineer-related occupation, including 5 years of experience in each of the following: BI, advanced SQL, scripting using Python, advanced data visualization, building dashboards, and building data visualizations in PowerBI and/or Tableau

Employer will accept any combination of experience, training or education. All experience and skills may be gained concurrently.
