Cloud Software Engineer (C#/.NET and Golang)

Our centralized management and orchestration solution extends the cloud development experience to fleets of edge devices that don’t have the resources to run traditional containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Our solution also provides customers with a significant reduction in engineering friction and cost compared to traditional embedded development using monolithic firmware and embedded Linux.

The Atym orchestration hub works in concert with our device runtime that is based on the open source Ocre project in the Linux Foundation. Powered by WebAssembly, the Ocre runtime is available in both Zephyr and Linux variants and supports OCI-like application containers in a footprint up to 2000x lighter than traditional container runtimes such as Docker. By collaborating with the open source community, we aim to make the Ocre container format the defacto standard “Docker for Embedded”.

Role

Responsibilities

• Implement features and individual services for the Atym Hub in C#/.Net and Go
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of services to meet quality and security requirements
• Create automated test tooling
• Participate in design, code, and documentation reviews
• Author and maintain high-quality written documentation

Requirements

This position requires proficiency in software design, coding, debugging, and troubleshooting. Experience in cloud-native applications, microservices, distributed systems, web services, and API design is required.

Required/Minimum qualifications:

• Minimum of three years’ experience in software engineering with hands-on design and coding of cloud-native applications and services
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical degree
• Minimum of two years of software engineering experience using C#/.Net and ASP.NET
• Background in developing REST-based web services; good knowledge of distributed systems best practices, methodologies, and standards
• Proven hands-on experience deploying and managing cloud applications on at least one major public cloud
• Expertise with containers (OCI/Docker) and container orchestrators/runtimes (e.g., Docker Compose, k8s)
• Experience with software development tools, debuggers, and version control systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional/Preferred qualifications:

• Direct experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS
• Experience with database and data services including SQL and NoSQL
• Experience with additional programming languages including Golang and Rust
• Familiarity with AI/ML, TinyML, and frameworks such as TensorFlow
• Familiarity with security and secure development practices
• Understanding of modern DevOps/SRE concepts including automation, configuration management, observability, and high availability
